The RDKB is undertaking an alternative approval process (AAP) to determine if electors are opposed to the RDKB entering into long term borrowing to finance a $4,600,000.00 ($4.6 million) loan to upgrade the McElvey Creek Landfill and purchase organics processing equipment such as a wood grinder and/or a shredder. If long term borrowing is not approved, the RDKB will need to investigate a more costly short-term funding option. The AAP is open to eligible electors and will run from February 18, 2022 to March 21, 2022. This is your opportunity to learn about the project, its financial impacts, and the AAP process. RDKB elected officials and staff will be attendance to answer questions.
